The Complete Strategy

October 21, 2009

bingo The other day I bought a bingo scratch lottery card. I rarely ever buy them but on equally rare run to the gas station without the kids I decided to pop into the store. I like taking time to scratch all the right squares and foolishly think the whole time that I’m so close to winning. I get so many of the right numbers and I see it coming together. But in the end, inevitably, there is just one piece missing that prevents me from winning a prize.

While I only lost $2 by buying a lottery card how much money are people missing out on by having an incomplete business strategy? Businesses don’t usually fail because of an inferior product or service but the inability to promote and manage their businesses. A unique and useful product with a reasonable price point still won’t do well if people aren’t aware of the product because of a lack of promotion.

Is your business or product struggling even though you’re doing well in so many areas? Take some time to analyze your business strategy and see if you’re missing any critical components. Consider hiring a business coach or outside marketing team to help you identify your weak spots. Concentrate on continuing to do what you do well and outsource the rest.

Now excuse me while I finish scratching another lottery ticket. I’m so close to winning!
